Laughlin, NV

August 30th, 2010

I recently attended a Verbal Judo class at my place of business. I am a Security Supervisor at a casino in Laughlin, NV. This class is amazing. This class is NOT just for Law Enforcement or Peace Officers, rather the Tactical Communication skills learned through Verbal Judo can be used any where at any time by any one. It can be used in a job interview, or at school perhaps talking with teachers or other students. It can even be used at home with the kids or even with your spouse. Its very simple and if used correctly it can save your life and your marriage and keep the stress level way down. It is important to practice what is tought in this class. Take notes and go over them daily and you too can be sucessful in the art of Verbal Judo.

In creating your blog post, please keep these tips in mind:

Title for Posts

* Select just one keyword phrase from the list above

* Use the selected keyword phrase once in the title

* Focus on making the title as compelling as possible (e.g., include a verb, ask a question, make it longer)

* Use title case (capitalize first letter of each word, except for “a” and “the”)

Copy for Posts

* Use the keyword phrase a few times in the body text and, definitely, in the first and last paragraph

* Don’t overuse the keyword phrase. The content should sound natural and not stilted (reading the text out loud is a good technique for ensuring this).

Video Production

* Keep short – two to four minutes

* Focus on communicating your message (rather than less important factors like video quality, word stumbles, etc)

General

* Keep the content narrowly focused on the title subject

* Focus on adding value to the reader/viewer, not selling

* Grab the reader/viewer interest right away (e.g., title, first sentence or two)

* Don’t be boring – think entertainment

* Keep a conversational tone

* Leave the reader/viewer wanting more
